Green Hill and Mary Long
Green Hill, III, the son of Green Hill and Mary Seawell, was born May 5, 1774 in Franklin County, NC. He died on May 25, 1830 in Greene County, Alabama. This Green Hill married Mary Long before 1800 in North Carolina. He and his family moved from Franklin County, NC to Alabama in March 1821. His oldest son Gabriel Hill was born in March 1799. The Greene County Gazette announced his death noting that he was 57 years old and left a large family. Estate records for Green Hill in Alabama number over 400 pages and he had five children. The only male son still alive in 1850 was John Joseph Hill who had a number of children. His son Gabriel Long Hill and Nicholas Green Hill had died around 1840 with Gabriel leaving a will. His wife Mary died before January 13, 1845 and also left a will.
However, this Green Hill family is NOT the Green Hill who witnessed the Sion Hill and Starage Lee marriage in Johnston County.
