Green Hill and Mary Bates
Green Hill was born in 1779 in North Carolina. In 1850, he is listed in Blount County, Tennessee. He died in 1859 in Blount, Tennessee. We believe this is the same Green Hill who was living in Rutherford County, NC in 1810 and moves to Haywood County in 1820 and 1830. In 1840, he has moved to Blount County, Tennessee and remains there until his death. His descendants have him dying in North Carolina in 1859, so there is some confusion on this information. He married Mary Bates and she is still alive in 1850 as well. She was born in 1788 in North Carolina and died after 1850 in Blount County, Tennessee. Several children are listed as being born beginning around 1824 but they do not appear to be related to the study of Sion Hill and Starage Lee.
This Green Hill family is NOT the Green Hill who witnessed the Sion Hill and Starage Lee marriage in Johnston County.
